Creating Your Account
plotTree requires an account to save your work and manage your stories. The signup process is straightforward, and you’ll get a 7-day free trial to explore all features.
Signup Options
You can create an account using either:
- Email and Password - Standard email-based signup with verification
- Google Sign-In - Quick signup using your Google account
Email and Password Signup
Step 1: Navigate to Signup
Visit the plotTree signup page and select “Create account.”
Step 2: Enter Your Details
- Email: Enter a valid email address (you’ll need to verify it)
- Password: Create a password at least 8 characters long
Step 3: Create Account
Click “Create account” to submit. You’ll see a confirmation message that an verification email has been sent.
Step 4: Verify Your Email
Check your inbox for a verification email from plotTree. Click the verification link to activate your account.
Note: You won’t be able to use plotTree features until you verify your email.
Google Sign-In
Quick Alternative
Click “Sign up with Google” and follow the OAuth flow. This method:
- Skips email verification (Google handles that)
- Uses your Google display name and email
- Is faster than email/password signup
What Happens After Signup
Once your account is created and verified:
- Trial Period Starts: You get 7 days of full access to all features
- Default Features Enabled: All project creation and AI features are available
- Ready for Setup: You’ll need to add API keys before using AI features
Next Steps
After creating your account, you’ll need to set up API keys to enable AI-powered story generation. plotTree uses a Bring Your Own Keys (BYOK) model, so you’ll need an OpenRouter API key to get started.
Troubleshooting
Didn’t receive verification email?
- Check your spam folder
- Verify you entered the correct email address
- Wait a few minutes - delivery can be delayed
Password requirements not met?
- Ensure your password is at least 8 characters
- Try a mix of letters, numbers, and special characters
